Professional Beauty Experts By Your Side
I should have known in sixth grade when I cut off all of friend's hair that I was meant to be a hairstylist. All through Jr high and high school I would cut, color and style my friend's hair. By the time I was 19 I figured out that I would be happy making a living by doing one of my hobbies. I have lived and done hair in Washington, Key West and now Asheville. I have been in Asheville since 2008 and opened my salon January 2017. I feel so lucky to be able to come to work everyday and be inspired by my fellow hairstylists and by my clients. I have a great clientele that continues to let me create new cuts and colors for them month after month. I am also a Regional Educator for Actiiv product line. I enjoy all the hats I get to wear and hope to continue to challenge my skill set for years to come.
From the first time I ever cut my brother's hair in the garage with the hedge trimmers at the age of five, I should have known I had an interest in creative cuts. It went from that to, of course dolls and such, and not until high school did I start experimenting on my own hair.
There's something being said for forming friendships and family bonds with people over the years that "just sit in your chair to get their hair done"
My career has blossomed far beyond my expectations, but it's not because of any money or any personal financial reasons. It's because of the lasting relationships and making my clients feel good. I've learned that's what its all about. I've made taking time with everyone in my chair to be my personal goal.
I have been doing hair for 9 years and love anything fashion. I stay up to date on trends as well as techniques. My focus is in-depth consultations to make sure my client's needs are met. I like to create a very safe environment for my clients and a LGBTQIA+ safe space. Using my artistic lifestyle to relate to my clients as well as deliver the service that they need to feel like the best person they can be, is what I strive to give each client I see.
Hair design has been my passion from color, to cuts, to chemical reformations. I love everything hair. I love fashion colors, especially reds! I believe in sculpting hair rather than cutting it. In my opinion everyone should have their own unique style rather than a basic style.
I believe in creating a comfortable, friendly environment for my clients building long lasting friendships. I care more about the clients wants rather than numbers. Coming to work is not a job, it is a Joy!.. I want long lasting friendships to keep my passion growing.
My interest in hair design began as a child. Some of my clients were my Barbie styling heads. As I grew up, my interest in hair and cosmetology grew too. I would have likes to take cosmetology courses in high school, but none were offered at the one I went to. After having my two children, I decided it was time I went back to school to do what I have always loved to do.
I am a singe parent of my, now grown, two children. And a Nonnie to my two grandchildren. I love what I do. I love interacting with people. I have the privilege of getting to know my clients and them getting to know me as well, creating long lasting friendships. I take pride in having the opportunity to take care of others. Helping people achieve their hair goals and making them feel better, is more than just a job to me.
I am a senior stylist with over 20 years experience. I'm looking forward to joining the Beauty Bar team, my future here, and the opportunity of taking on new clients.
I graduated Cosmetology School in December 2017. I still consider myself a Junior stylist because I feel like I still have a lot to learn. I want everyone who sits in my chair to feel comfortable and know that I am confident in my skills, but I will ask for advice from my colleges if needed. I enjoy all aspects of hair! But I would have to say my favorite thing is my personal baby Glitter-Lights, aka fairy hair!! I use tinsel and I taught myself from tutorial videos how to tie the tinsel into hair. I use the one strand method mainly, but at times I do have to use the two strand method. I have a large variety of colors and low prices! So come give me a try!!
Before I started down the path of Cosmetology I worked at an ICF Group Home/ Day Program for 11 years! I mainly worked with IDD/Autistic adults & although I enjoyed my job very much I decided it was time for me to go to school and help the IDD community in another way. I hope to some day be the go-to in the community of special needs for hair services. I'm very knowledgeable on Autism, sensory issues, pica, behavioral issues, medical issues, the process of desensitization, and many more things! So if you or someone you know is in need of some help in this area I'm here to help! Please feel free to stop by or contact me! I also offer sensory days if needed!
